2772D is a 1952 Cessna 170b.  We decided on a 170 because it met Dave's desire to fly a taildragger around to local grass fields and it met Heather's desire to eventually fly around backcountry airstrips in Utah and take her daughter on the Great American Flying Adventure.  For these bush pilots in the making, 4 seats were a must.  The extra seats allow us to take family and friends on occasion and provide ample room for adventure gear such as foldable bikes, inflatable boats, tents, and whatever else we need for wherever we go.

One of our goals with 2772D is to retrace its 62 year history.  To that end, we have identified the following timeline based on information in the aircraft logs, engine logs and registration history: 1952 - The plane was transferred from the manufacturer in Wichita, KS to San Diego, CA where it remained the rest of the decade.  1960 - The plane moved to Cheyenne, WY and Belle Fourche, SD later the same year. 1960s-1980s - 2772D was relocated to the vicinity of Portland, OR. 1984 - It found its way to Laurel, MT 1987-1988 - The plane moved to the Southeast.  It made stops to Mobile, AL and Macon, GA. 1990s - 2772D lived in Fort Lauderdale, FL 1994-1995 - It moved around various parts of North Carolina. 1996 - 2772D took up residence in Moss, MS. The owner here eventually moved the plane to New York where we found it for sale outside of Albany. 2015 - In our neck of woods awaiting more cross-country journeys from east to west and north to south.
