Dave has been passionate about flying as long has can remember.  His first flight in a small aircraft was the gift of a glider ride in 1984.  He's never forgotten that day and it's fueled his desire to fly ever since. He's flown many light single and multi-engine aircraft and now specializes in the Cirrus family of aircraft.  He's been a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) for over two years and has several thousand hours of experience in them. Dave is fascinate by how things work.  He's always fixing something, making something or just tinkering.  He's also an amateur radio operator, a designer, a runner and cyclist. Always in search of an adventure, he hopes soon to be setting out to find it in a classic taildragger.  He often imagines traveling by air across the country.  After a recent visit to Utah, the dream almost always returns him to this place that has so invaded his soul.

Heather was born with a passion to fly. She completed her private pilot certificate in 2000, but took a hiatus when she moved east in pursuit of career and family. She returned to the skies in 2012 and has been flying with Dave ever since.  A native Midwesterner, Heather seeks out the big sky vistas easily achieved when flying low and slow. With this 170, she hopes to pursue some new flying dreams including flying to backcountry airfields around Utah and taking her daughter on their own manifest destiny with the great American flying adventure.  In the meantime, she'll continue to leisurely work toward her instrument rating, and attend every local pancake breakfast flyin, visit every local airplane museum, and attend every aerial pumpkin bombing contest she can get to.  But, first, she must learn to fly this taildragger!
